Due to urinary tract infections, there occurs inflammation in the bladder, which is medically known as cystitis. It has a recurring tendency. In Ayurveda, urine elimination falls under the function of Apana Vayu, and any interruption in Apana Vayu is directly associated with urinary tract issues. “Among the fourteen types of disorders in the urinary tract, cystitis is the one,” says Ayurveda.
In Ayurveda, the condition of cystitis is better known as mootrakruchhra, and different doshas express this condition in different ways. Cystitis might be the result of infections in parts connected to the bladder, acute constipation, and kidney stones, prolonged catheter use, exposure to radiation, and drug abuse. In the case of cystitis, internal detoxification is done by the Ayurveda that removes infections and any blockage that has been there in the urinary tract. Moreover, the herbs of Ayurveda aim towards making the functioning of Apana Vayu normal. Cystitis is most common in women in comparison to that of men.
