The digestive system is the combination of organs that assist the conversion of food into energy. Once a human consumes any food or liquid, the digestive system breaks the consumed item into their simpler form such as vitamins, fats, carbohydrates, and proteins. Later, the absorption of the resultant (vital nutrients) happens in the bloodstream from where they get transferred into the cells of the whole body.

According to Ayurveda, good digestion depends upon three factors Agni, Ojas, and Ama. Agni or the digestive fire is responsible for the process of digestion. If it does not function properly and the necessary substance does not get absorbed, then there come various issues.
Ojas is the energy, vitality, and immunity that increase with good digestion and vice-versa. Ama is the toxins that get accumulated when the digestive system works poorly and leads to many illnesses. As per Ayurveda, there are many Vedic rules associated with food and water that helps in good digestion and prevention of illnesses. Moreover, the herbs work wonder in the alteration of all losses and balancing the doshas to support health.
