Shwasa Pranali Shoth or Bronchitis is an inflammatory problem of the respiratory tract allowing the accumulation of phlegm. It invades the functioning of the bearer in two ways, acute bronchitis and chronic bronchitis. Acute bronchitis is a condition that may or may not indicate the presence of Shwasa Pranali Shoth because of the causative cold and influenza.

It may last up to a week or just a day, whereas chronic bronchitis is a result of allergies from pollution and smoking. The duration of chronic bronchitis may last for an extended period.It is a result of the Dosh in Kapha caused by the accumulation of toxins, smoking, poor nutrition, nervous breakdown followed by the physical & mental stress. It can make the diseased feel coughed up but unable to spit it out. The possible symptoms of bronchitis would be a severe cough, itchy throat, discomforting pain in the chest, wheezing, and loss of appetite.
