Flatulence is the accumulation of varied gases in the human digestive system that can cause discomfort in the abdomen. This is one of the very common issues of the digestive system. According to Ayurveda, having gas anywhere in the digestive tract indicates disease. Ayurveda says that aggravation in one or more doshas or bodily energy can result in flatulence. Putting a stop over the consumption of food that aggravates the specific dosha can help in the rectification of the damage. The impacts of the food we eat are crucial on our body, and Ayurveda classifies these impacts as “Guna” (qualities). The quality of the food can be hot and cold, and Ayurveda suggests eating food keeping the Guna in mind as per the need of the body.
